Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been earned on hardcourt
A revitalized the Russian player secured his first trophy for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.
Medvedev, a former world number one, has had a difficult period, winning just one match at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in particular - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-time trainer Cervara.
Now training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.
This marks the player's maiden championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface since spring of 2023.
Victory also signifies he has secured twenty-one victories at twenty-one different tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," stated tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six title deciders, featuring in that event earlier this year.
His retrieving approach and recurring reactions on the playing surface had prompted commentators to wonder if his capacity to compete at the elite level was concluded.
But the player has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.
The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the final five points to gain the advantage.
Both players traded service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first tour title, seized the initiative to push for a third set.
He defended 4 initial chances in a close final set before the champion won the break to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, he earned the win with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent incapable to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
